First of all, make sure you read & understand what makes a DAO a good fit for MetaGame. The goal is not to onboard & build bridges with as many DAOs as possible but to filter & pick the DAOs that are truly a great fit for MetaGame.

Read this with full attention to make sure they’re a fit & value-aligned.

Think about the DAOs you know & the DAOs you’re a part of.

If no DAOs come to mind, maybe check our list of potential DAOs, scroll through DeepDAO or any of the many DAO aggregator websites.

Note: It would be ideal if you built a bridge between MetaGame & a DAO you’re a member of or at least want to become a member of - not just for the sake of bridgebuilding.

After picking a DAO you want to build a bridge with, it would be best to check-in & consult with the 🌉-bridgebuilders-guild to see whether anyone has any thoughts on it.

Maybe the DAO is known to be made up of misaligned actors, maybe its a great fit for MetaGame or maybe it just isn’t.

Getting to know this early will save you effort later on when its time to vote.

After choosing a DAO, the first step is to join their Discord & introduce yourself.

You can tell them you’re coming from MetaGame & share the link, but make sure you do it in a proper place & that you’re not just shilling - we don’t want people to get the impression that MetaGamers are only out to promote MetaGame because we’re not.

Here’s what your message may look like:

Sup y’all! I’m Octo, coming from country X or industry Y, interested in things like Z & the reason I love your DAO is XYZ. I’m working on Project A & MetaGame, where we are building the connective tissue for the DAO space, help DAOs grow & build things like MyMeta (contributor profiles/member directories/sort of a linkedin for DAOs). Excited to learn more about what you all are doing here & find a way I can plug in to make myself useful 😊

See if there’s any interest in what you wrote.

We want to make sure MetaGame is a good fit for DAO X, not just that DAO X is a good fit for MetaGame - so, if nobody responds to your message & nobody signals any interest in MetaGame or MyMeta, maybe its not a bridge worth building. 🤷‍♂️

Might also just be that they struggle with innkeeping. Try to hang around discord, meet more people, join their calls, become a member etc; feel the vibe!

Like the vibe? Like the people? Found ways to collaborate?

If you like being a part of this DAO & still think there should be a bridge built between it & MetaGame - try to suggest it to one of the core members.

Ask them whether they’re interested in joining MetaGame personally or as a DAO.

If yes - send them the link.

The thing is, even the people with best intentions will probably need another poke or two before they actually read the requirements & discuss with their DAO - having a DAO accept & fulfill the terms of the MetaAlliance doesn’t happen over night.

Don’t be aggressive or annoying. If someone tells you they will check out the doc, give them 2-3 days before following up to ask whether they have any thoughts about it & whether they want to proceed with joining or not.

But if you’re constantly finding yourself having to poke them, maybe they are just not as interested in MetaGame as they initially seemed - that’s okay!

• Either give up & leave it up for them to contact you
• or ask them whether they’ve changed their mind about wanting to join 🤷‍♂️

The first step to actually building a bridge is not them simply fulfilling all the requirements, its having the communities actually meet each other.

You should invite them to present their DAO to our community & bring some of their community.

• To do that, simply send them this link.

After that, we should do the same - ask them whether they want us to visit them.

Pay attention to the 🤡-events-planning channel. See whether there’s interest from the MetaGame community in hosting the community you invited.

Whether yes or no, make sure to communicate that to the person you contacted!

If the response was positive, make sure to @Shiller for the promo banner to get made & tweeted. Also send them a calendar invite if they signaled they want it.

If you invite someone to the Community Gathering - make sure you are there personally.

Its on you to welcome them, introduce them & keep the conversation or questions going if everyone goes silent. Most importantly...

Use the opportunities to discuss different ways that the communities could collaborate, how they fit into MetaGame, how MetaGame could help them & how they could help us.

After the communities meet at least once, it is time to set up a vote on whether we want them to join MetaGame or not. They may or may not want to do the same.

If you don’t have permission to set up a vote, ask in 🤷-quest-ask or 🌉-bridgebuilders-guild.

If the vote is negative, make sure to let them know. If the vote is positive...

Keep it up, you’re doing great!

At this point, it is time for them to fulfill the rest of the requirements to join.

It is not a hard requirement to have them buy Seeds or the MetaManifesto but the one requirement that we insist on is that they donate to a good non-crypto initiative (something ecological or philanthropic, preferably through Giveth)

Once you are sure they are philosophically aligned, ask them to click the “join” button & proceed with filling out the form to officially join 🎉

If you’re unsure, discuss in the 🌉-bridgebuilders-guild.

Not exactly! Once a guild is officially onboarded & they have a guild page in MetaGame, there are a few important things to do:

• Ask whether they have a comms person & contact 🐙 peth to add them to the MetaAlliance group chat so they can meet the rest of the members, stay in the loop & keep us in the loop.
• Pass it on to 🥠-shillers-guild to write a short thread about them.
• Have them urge their community to create MyMeta profiles so that they can appear under “members” on their guild profile.
• Keep pushing on whatever other collaboration opportunity or synergy you’ve discovered!
